OPPC
What is the OPPC?
The Organismo Paritario para la Prevención en la Construcción – OPPC (parity organism for prevention in the construction industry) was founded in 2001, within the Foundation with the purpose of supporting the small companies and working centres in the industry.
Which are OPPC’s duties?
The main OPPC mission is to visit constructions in which the appointment of representatives and the constitution of health and safety committees are not required, according to the Spanish law for labour risk prevention. The OPPC also carries out statistics that show the accident rate in this industry, it suggests solutions to reduce such rates and organizes and develops an itinerant training on site.
How is it organized?
The constitution of the OPPC is kept within the bounds of the sector’s General Agreement and it shares territorial, functional and action aspects with the Foundation. It is ruled by the by-laws of the Foundation itself and the instructions of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Commission. The OPPC’s field of action covers Spain and is organized through the territorial councils of the Foundation.
Who teams OPPC?
The OPPC is composed of eight members. Since it is a parity organism, four of them are company representatives and the other four belong to trade unions that have signed the Agreement. It is chaired by the Foundation’s president and there are also regional representatives in parity.
